Pansy “Pat” Willis, 90, a long-time resident of Butner, died early Tuesday at her home.
She was a native of Yancey County, North Carolina, and the daughter of Millard Fillmore and Nancy Jones Robinson. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Butner. She worked at Murdoch Center in Butner before her retirement.
Surviving are two children, a daughter, Rayna Lester (Dennis) of Creedmoor and son, Jim Willis (Wanda) of Gastonia; four grandchildren, Cecily McDowell (David) of Creedmoor, Neal Lester (Robyn) of Raleigh, Eric Carpenter (Shannon) of Charlotte and Scott Carpenter (Catherine) of Cumming, GA; seven great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Aiken McDowell of Creedmoor, Amelia and Taylor Lester of Raleigh, Hannah and Maggie Carpenter of Cumming, GA; and Sydney Carpenter of Charlotte; one brother, Millard Robinson (Joe) of Marion, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Pete” Willis and seven brothers and sisters.
Funeral services, conducted by Pastor Charlie Bryan, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 16, at the First Baptist Church of Butner. The family will accept visitors from 12:30 until 2:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center of the church or at other times at the home of Rayna Lester in Creedmoor. Burial will follow in the Carolina Memorial Gardens in Creedmoor.
